S E C T I O N S

Year of Birth: 2003

Breed: Hanoverian

DSCN2615x300Courvoisier is a 3 year old 17.0 hand bright chestnut Hanoverian mare. This is a beautifully correct & extremely well bred flashy mare with four high white socks and blaze. She is by Contucci out of the States Premium Mare, Wilhelmine (Walt Disney I x Gisloe). Like her big brother, she is generous, curious, bold, very willing, non-mareish & soundly constructed with no vices or blemishes. She walks, trots & canters at a beginning Training Level & has started to be gently hacked out on trails.

At her recent Hanoverian Inspection she was declared Champion Hanoverian Mare with an outstanding score of 7.94, receiving a score of 9 for neck and walk, an 8 for overall impressions & development with no score less than 7.

Courvoisier’s Sire, Contucci, has a superb, uncomplicated character. His extra positive rideability and willingness to work was a highlight for him during his 100-Day Performance Testing in Medingen. Contucci was the HLP Champion in dressage with a score of 147.11 points. Scores of '9' were given for Contucci's character, willingness to work, trainability, and several scores of '9' were given for his walk and trot. Contucci earned early notoriety as a promising upcoming dressage stallion when he won the National Breeders' Championship qualifier for the Hannoverian breed at Dornhagen with 9.2 points out of 10.0 points possible.

In 2003, the USDF named Contucci as the leading producer in the US for offspring winning at the USDF/Cosequin Breeders Championship Finals. He shares that title with Riverman, each having six offspring earning their regional Championship titles in 2002. The sheer number of Contucci offspring winning titles in breed shows across the country is an implication of his consistency as a sire. Even more impressive, the German FN ranks Contucci 18th on their 2002 list of the Top 200 Sires for Dressage. This result is based on the few offspring by Contucci from his first foal crop who are actively competing in Germany.

Contucci's sire Caprimond is ranked #1 on the VhW "Jahrbuch's" ranking of stallions for production of "Type." He is also listed as #11 on their ranking of dressage sires (500 stallions ranked). Reserve Champion at the 1987 stallion approvals in Neumunster, Caprimond later became Champion of his 100-Day test in Adelheidsdorf with a dressage index of 147.76. At the very early age of seven, Caprimond was successfully partaking in FEI dressage competition and had a successful career at Grand Prix.

Karon, Caprimond's sire, was also a premium stallion and equally successful in dressage. Karon's sire Arogno is regarded as the most successful Trakehner sire of modern times. On the damline of Caprimond are many Champion mares and sires, each earning their titles at States Premium lisensings and stallion performance testings. To date, Caprimond has produced ten approved sons. Contucci is one of four who were dressage champions in their performance tests.

Contucci's dam Laureen is by Lungau (Lugano II) out of Adineby Akzent II. Laureen was very successful in her Mare Performance testing, receiving 9's on all her gaits and earning an overall score of 8.1. She is by the Celle Stallion Lungau and her damline is by Akzent II, direct descendant of the influential Absatz. Lungau, also a beautiful liver chestnut, is well known for his dressage ability, his consistency as a sire, and the versatility of his offspring. Akzent II and Diplomat bring even further versatility and performance to Contucci's gene pool. Diplomat was the champion of the DLG -Show many years in a row. The saturation of proven riding horse blood in Contucci's pedigree emphasizes the consistency of his rideability and offers further insight to his talent for dressage.

Whether for riding or as a future broodmare, this mare has it all!
