Farm Profile:

Fox Den Farm, a 42 acre farm nestled amongst the rolling hills of Chester County in  the beautiful Brandywine River Valley, is directed by Peter Hansen, Bereiter.

Fox Den Farm's facilities include:

  • A new 70 ft. by 150 ft. lighted and sprinklered Indoor Riding Arena with sand and rubber all-weather footing.
  • A lighted 20 meter by 40 meter fenced sand and rubber outdoor area.
  • A very large grass area with stadium jumps and ample clear space for flatwork, dressage and jump schooling.
  • A large roundpen.
  • A large grass racetrack connected to conditioning hills.
  • Miles of trails.
  • Daily turn-out either individually or in small groups.
  • Manager lives on premises.

Services Offered:

Four types of board offered - a plan to meet everyone’s needs & budget!

Full board includes a large rubber-matted stall cleaned daily, high quality Purina brand feed, high quality hay, daily turnout (individual or group; weather permitting) & use of the farm's many amenities.

Field board includes the same high quality Purina feed & hay in addition to the use of the farm's many facilities. Each field boarder field includes its own large, well ventilated run-in shed.

Self-care board includes a large rubber-matted stall with a brand new automatic watering system, turnout in a group setting & use of the farm’s extensive amenities.  For an additional charge, care for your horse is available on an as needed basis.

Rehabilitation services include a range of therapies and rehabilitation facilities for your horses health - from assessment to rehabilitation. Improving and then maintaining your horse's health often requires the expertise of more than one service.  Fox Den Farm provides a varied range of services which can be tailored to suit your individual needs. Fox Den Farm is located only 10 minutes from the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center, a renowned & state of the art veterinary center.

Horses may require rehabilitation:

  • After injury, trauma or illness
  • Following surgery
  • Following correction of foot imbalance
  • To assist the management of specific conditions such as tendon injury.

Your horse's comfort is of the utmost importance at all times. We look after your horse in a quiet, peaceful and private manner. Horses recovering from illness/injury including those on box rest have large and well ventilated stalls including, where appropriate, company of other horses.  Fox Den Farm provides exceptional yet quiet surroundings that allow the horse to heal both mentally and physically.

The range of services and treatments Fox Den Farm offers includes:

  • Cold Water Therapy
  • Remedial Exercise - to improve strength and flexibility, restore a normal range of movement, improve balance, stamina and athleticism.
  • Individual and controlled turnout.
  • Remedial Farrier
  • Chiropractor & Acupuncture - where appropriate.
  • Regular visits from Equine Dentist

No matter which plan you choose, professional assistance is available for you & your horse.

All veterinary care, Farrier services, etc. are extra charges and are not included in the base boarding cost. 

Dressage, Jumping and Young Horse Training, Lessons and Clinics offered to all abilities.

Since coming to this country in the early 1980's from Germany, Peter Hansen, manager of Fox Den Farm - USA, LLC has expertly trained numerous Sporthorses of varying breeds to "S" Level Dressage and Jumping many of them having begun their show careers under him in the Sporthorse Breeding Classes.

It is due to his high level of training & kind, caring nature that Peter has been able to build his reputation in the U.S. and that of Fox Den Farm to the high, professional status they enjoy today!  Lessons & training are offered at fair & affordable rates.

As several satisfied customers have said "Peter always gives 110% in lessons to me and my horse.  Even when things don't go perfectly, he always makes something good come out of the lesson. His patience & willingness to listen are not readily found in a teacher of his abilities."

Peter is an USEF-licensed Sporthorse Breeding Judge.  Organizational Memberships include the United States Equestrian Federation, the United States Dressage Federation, the United States Eventing Association, the Dansk Varmblod, the International Sporthorse Registry/Oldenburg North America, and the American Hanoverian Society.
